What we collect, why, and the choices you have

Stage Time collects very little about you. Here’s what we gather through our contact form, donations, and site analytics, and how to opt out.

Effective November 4, 2026

Stage Time is a small nonprofit, and we don't collect much about you. This page explains what we do collect when you visit stagetimenow.org, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information You Give Us

When you send us a message through our contact form, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you write. We use it to reply to you and for nothing else. We don't sell it, rent it, or add you to a mailing list without asking.

If you make a donation, the payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. We never see or store your full card or bank details. We do receive your name, email, and the amount of your gift so we can thank you and send a receipt for your tax records.

Website Analytics

Like most websites, we use analytics tools to understand how people find and use the site, so we can make it better. These tools use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, how you got here, your general location (city or region, not your address), and your device and browser type.

Google Analytics shows us overall traffic patterns, like which pages are popular and where visitors come from. You can read Google's privacy policy and see how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Microsoft Clarity shows us how visitors interact with our pages through heatmaps and session replays, such as where people click and how far they scroll. This helps us spot pages that are confusing or broken. Clarity is set up to mask text you type into forms, so it doesn't capture what you enter. You can read the Microsoft Privacy Statement for details.

We use this information only in aggregate to improve the website. We don't use it to identify you personally, and we don't use it for advertising.

Your Choices

  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
  • You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Many browsers and privacy extensions can block analytics scripts entirely.
  • If you've contacted us or donated and want us to delete your information, just let us know. We'll keep only what we're required to keep for tax and nonprofit records.

Young Musicians

Our programs serve young musicians, but this website is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them online. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it. Parents and guardians are always welcome to reach out to us on behalf of a young musician.

Photos at Our Events

We sometimes take photos and video at the jam and other Stage Time events and share them on this site and on social media. If you'd rather not appear, or would like an image of you or your child removed, tell us and we'll take care of it.

Links to Other Sites

Our pages link to other websites, such as The Hotel Leo and our sponsors. We're not responsible for their privacy practices, so please check their policies when you visit.

How We Protect Your Information

Our site uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to the information we collect to the people who need it to run Stage Time. No website is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care with what you share with us.

Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top.

Questions

If you have any questions about this policy or your information, please get in touch.

Mentoring musicians in Whatcom County

Stage Time is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving musicians in the Bellingham area.
We put aspiring musicians on stage with the best veteran players we can hire, so they learn the craft where it's really taught: in front of a live audience.
Support Stage Time

Your donation lets us hire top veteran musicians to share the stage with young players. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

We'll email you a PDF receipt for your tax records.

Bellingham Jazz Jam at the Hotel Leo Sundays 6-9pm

Bellingham Jazz Jam Session

Join us Sundays from 6–9pm at The Hotel Leo for an all-ages jazz jam. A house band of veteran players holds down the stage, and musicians of every level are welcome to sit in. Students and young players are especially encouraged.

Many thanks to The Hotel Leo, a great supporter of Bellingham jazz.

See more photos and videos of the jam on Facebook.

Boundary Bay Jazz Jam

What They Say About the Sunday Jazz Jam
"Fun to see and hear all the wonderful talent last night, Scot Ranney! There aren't many places where you can hear the veterans side by side with the new generation of players. I had that opportunity at the Moore Theatre last month, playing with David Grisman. The stage was packed with young and old and the love was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Thanks for creating a cultural breeding ground where people can see and experience cross generational creative fun in action! Your Sunday jams at Boundary Bay are a blessing to the Bellingham jazz community." ~ Matt Eakle, Flute (2024, when the jam was at Boundary Bay)

"If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music." - Albert Einstein

This Einstein quote is from a 1929 interview with George Sylvester Viereck, published in the Saturday Evening Post as “What Life Means to Einstein.”
