What Is Stage Time?
Stage time is the in-the-moment experience a musician absorbs while performing in front of a live audience. There's no better way for a musician to reach the next level, and the only way to get it is to get up there and play.
Who We Are
Stage Time is run by professional musicians who have spent decades riding the ups and downs of making a living with music. We know the Bellingham scene, and we remember what it took to get where we are.
We were all young musicians once. We all remember our first paying gig in front of a live audience, the moment someone we looked up to said a few words that made us push harder, and the night we realized the practice room is not the same as the stage. A musician's performing life really starts when they're up there in front of a crowd, playing next to people who know what they're doing.
What We Do
We put young musicians on stage with veteran players. Right now, that happens at our Sunday jazz jam at The Hotel Leo, where we hire a house band of top veteran musicians and aspiring players sit in with them. Along the way, the jam brings together musicians who might never have met and listeners of every generation.
The best mentors are working professionals, and we're working to pay them what they're worth. That's where your donations and grants go.
