We'd like to thank Dr. Joseph Garcia, a pioneer of baby sign language (among many other accomplishments), for his invaluable help getting Stage Time started and for mentoring us in the art of grant writing. Without Dr. Garcia, we'd still be at the drawing board.

The Hotel Leo

The Hotel Leo picked up where Boundary Bay Brewery left off, and the Sunday jazz jam is going strong. Their support lets us bring in experienced professionals for the house band, so young and up-and-coming musicians can share the stage with them in front of a live audience. Thanks to The Hotel Leo, the jam continues to feature the top-tier talent people have come to expect, and it's become a Sunday night draw for locals and out-of-town guests alike.

Andrew D. Thaler Trust

We're grateful to the Andrew D. Thaler Trust for their generous donation, which helps us hire veteran musicians to mentor young players on stage.

Diane Arvin

Diane is a longtime supporter of Bellingham jazz and of music in general. Thank you, Diane, for helping us give aspiring musicians stage time with veteran players.

Boundary Bay Brewery

Boundary Bay Brewery was the first home of the Stage Time jam. They gave us the stage on Sunday nights and a monthly donation to help pay the veteran musicians in the house band. After 35 years, Boundary Bay closed its brewpub, but they're still brewing great beer and have opened a new café spot in town. Big thanks to Boundary Bay for everything they've done for our music community over the decades!

Mentoring musicians in Whatcom County

Stage Time is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving musicians in the Bellingham area.
We put aspiring musicians on stage with the best veteran players we can hire, so they learn the craft where it's really taught: in front of a live audience.
Support Stage Time

Your donation lets us hire top veteran musicians to share the stage with young players. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Bellingham Jazz Jam at the Hotel Leo Sundays 6-9pm

Bellingham Jazz Jam Session

Join us Sundays from 6–9pm at The Hotel Leo for an all-ages jazz jam. A house band of veteran players holds down the stage, and musicians of every level are welcome to sit in. Students and young players are especially encouraged.
